Overall I really like it, the plot was captivating and really interesting, very thought provoking. I also think it could have made a really good film. Some of it could be better written, I don't think Burton is much of a writer but is still really good. Just didn't like some of the old fashioned racially stereotyped language that was used.

I loved this book! If you are interested in the social dynamic between different races, moral and ethical plots, and action, this is a great book to read. It's certainly dark and has a lot of tough topics but I enjoyed the way it made me think.

Broaches tough topics in a timely way though it was written decades ago. I would recommend to anyone fond of The Walking Dead. Perfect for anyone interested in reading fiction that is immersive and haunting because it feels real and almost could be. Very different from Handmaids Tale in the characters and plot but I enjoyed it in a similar way. For sure some trigger warnings listed below. Really enjoyed it!  Was amazed it's not more popular.
