I’m a little lost with how I feel about this. I heard so many wonderful things about this being a raw, deep book and I am a massive Elvis fan so figured it’d be worth it however I found it difficult to keep me interested.
I do like how it’s raw in the sense it’s Lisa’s words how she spoke (similar to Britney Spears’ recent memoir) but Lisa didn’t say much. It seemed like a lot of word vomit without any actual information.
Maybe I was expecting more but apart from learning she kept her son’s body in a room in her house for 2 months and a bit of openness around her and Michael Jackson (which again, isn’t much) there wasn’t anything that hasn’t been in the media for years.
The timelines bounce a lot and Riley’s add on’s don’t always seem necessary but again, maybe I just expected more.
If you’re a fan, you may enjoy this but for me this was a read it once and donate the book.
