This was a tough read because of all of the family dysfunction. Especially that Keough send to think she is immune from or embraces ( not sure what word I want there). 

Maybe we need to pivot away from family trauma stories the way we have pivoted away from true crime. Aren't we glorifying this if we continue to read and promote it. Are we solving anything with these tell alls?

Unofficial sequel to Pricilla’s Elvis and Me (though I preferred this). Parts written by Riley were heartbreaking. An incredible read, wish LM were still alive and the book was longer 4🎵

If ever you needed a primary source that proves the weight of intergenerational trauma (but with a hopeful ending) this is the one. Less a chronological memoir than dialogue of reflections, so go in expecting a lot of naval-gazing with moments of painful self-awareness that provide a complicated, nuanced exploration of addiction, parentification, and abandonment.

Content warnings for addiction, death of a parent (on and off page), suicide, childhood trauma, and emotional manipulation/abuse
