Dare To Take is book number 9 of the Dare To Love series and I have never read any of the previous books in this series but you don't have to read the other books.

I absolutely loved this book and I have to tell you I read this book in one day because I just couldn't put it down.

I love the story and I love the main characters. This book is sexy and it got me to laugh and also feel sad. Gotta love books like that.

I liked this book so much that I added all the other books in the Dare To Love series to my long list of books to read.

Tyler and Ella have a tumultuous history that has affected them both. He's prior army, now in security, and she's his little sister's best friend; classic case of the forbidden love relationship. A prior night of passion turns painful quickly, and it isn't until he's tasked with saving her from a hurricane that these old wounds become fresh again. But, it's more than just the wounds that are reopened, as doesn't take much to reignite the passion that sparks between them. Both Tyler and Ella have scars on their hearts from old family betrayals, and it certainly isn't easy for either party to accept what's in front of them, but neither can resist the temptation. Tyler's protective nature flares immediately, and it will both frighten and excite a timid Ella.

I'm a huge lover of the 'best friend's brother' trope, and add in that he's former Army and hellloooo. I enjoyed the premise of the story along with the way it played out, seeing Tyler trying to heal her and help her even when he is also just as much in need of it. Those protective instincts were a very attractive part of him, and what made him appealing. The fact that they both could relate to one another, with similar emotional scars, also made them a believable match. I think had it been a little more into telling rather than showing I would have really loved it more, as I was very much aware that I was reading it, if that makes sense. With the awareness, rather than being sucked in, I wasn't able to feel the relationship in my gut as I do with most stories. Aside from that, it was an enjoyable read and a great book to choose when looking for that feel-good, light story.

Another enjoyable book in this series, this one featuring the last of the original Dare children Tyler and his sister Averys best friend Ella. Who shares quite a history with the Dares and Tyler especially.

Overall a good, easy read with a few hot moments and certainly worth a read for any fans of the author and the series itself. Although can just as easily be read as a standalone.

I thoroughly enjoyed this cute romance! Having not read the others in the series I was a little scared going into it(It's the 6th in the series) but was delighted to find that it can be read as a stand alone as I wasn't lost at all while reading this.

The relationship between Ella and Tyler had started long before they met up again, but stayed apart for various reasons. What I most enjoyed was Tyler's persistence and Ella spunk which made the banter between the two adorable and lovable. The minute that Ella was in trouble Tyler was summoned to help her out and from the beginning after hearing about Tyler I found myself rooting for him throughout the book, I am deff #TeamTyler.

With a romantic and suspense plot this makes for a perfect afternoons read in a big comfy chair! This was a great read and i highly recommend it!

As this was the first Carly Phillips book, I have to say I fell in love fast with the pace of this novel. It gives you just the right amount of steam, intrigue and banter. The crime element upped the game for me in this one especially the little twists that were involved with it.
Ella and Tyler shared one night of passion that weighs on both of them. What I love is their undeniable attraction to each other. You can feel their chemistry sizzle even when things are going bad and how much they fight that attraction. I really enjoyed the level if protectiveness that Tyler was around Ella. Just enough to feel alpha but not so overbearing you wanna smack him. I thought Ella was a strong leading lady who fights for herself even though Tyler says otherwise sometimes and doesn't back down.
Overall, I really enjoyed this novel as it was a great story of the healing past, creating a future and finding peace with one another. These two were really made for each other and you can feel that through out the story.

ARC received for an honest review

I have adored all the Dare books that I have read before this one ( I have missed a few, but they can all be read as stand alones) and I really do adore this series.
Tyler and Ella's relationship is complicated and they just don't know how to deal with it. They have been standoffish with each other since an incident years back, and now that they are thrown back together they need to sort out their past to have a future - but will it be together??
Dare to Take has a bit of everything. Sexy, sweet, a bit of suspense thrown in for good measure.

Tyler and Ella's relationship is like the hurricane the went through on that island. Stormy, passionate, a force to be reckoned with.

Sadly, this is the last of the Dare series, and I felt a sad about that - but knowing there is a new series in the wings helped with that!

Can't wait to see where the new series takes us.
