Cute book that subtly encourages kids to find the books about subjects they like if they think they don't like to read.

Hilarious and adorable. It would be interesting to ask students how the cats got their names (appropriate for the interests, of course) The detail in the illustrations is just right; I especially liked the entire wall of pirate books in the library, as well as the expressions. The fact that Stevenson finally liked to read when the right topic was available, and that Nick still savored being read to himself are important aspects of the book as well.

Bought this one for the godchildren because one of the two cats looked like their cat. Adorable story and illustration. Great for just learning to read!

This is absolutely adorable. Shows a love of cats and learning to read. Also reminds parents that sometimes it takes finding the right book or way of framing certain things that can create a love of learning and reading. Some cats (kids) take time and a little more effort and it's okay. We must be patient with them.

Cute and adorable book...two cats Verne and Stevenson. A great book to reinforce the lesson...there is a book for everyone.

Cute metaphor for readers who fall into reading and those who need to find their interests.

Creative and clever. A picture book for grown-ups who love literature to share with the small people in their lives. Nick teaches his cats, including the reluctant one, to read. This results in great adventures beautifully illustrated by Kate Berube.
