How can something so silly as an obsession with spirals be so dark and scary? Not nightmare-inducing scary, but still... Fantastic artwork!

Effectively creepy. I totally understand the appeal, I really enjoyed it. This type of horror story always seems scarier to me than most of the stuff you'd see in horror movies, because it feels more abstract and hopeless. It's not a thing you can defeat, it's horrible unexplainable events that just keep happening. I think it was best in the beginning and kind of grew a little bit more stale the further I got into it, since he tried to find a different way to make spirals scary every time, but luckily this is just the first volume so I'm excited to see where it goes from here.
