Loved this. Nice blend of true crime stories and why people have committed their crimes with psychiatry science. I think I’d have liked more on how psychiatrists identify clues in specific cases (e.g how can they tell when someone is lying when doing an interview or press conference on someone they know they’ve murdered)
The author also talks about his own experience of murder in his family and how working in forensic psychiatry impacts his personal and professional life.

Very interesting book interwoven with the author's own experience with mentally ill family that has led to tragic outcomes, though its structure and meandering narrative can take a bit of getting used and can stymy coherence occasionally.
That being said, it is such a different perspective of killers - being that of a forensic psychiatrist as opposed to media or law enforcement/judicial - and found it quite enjoyable and illuminating.
