Living with Our Dead by Delphine Horvilleur is a moving book on loss, but it's also so much more. I don't know enough about international politics to have kept up with parts of it, but I loved that it was also a close examination of the words we use to talk about or avoid talking about death. As a bonus, I learned a fair amount about some practices of Judaism. It's a quiet, contemplative read, and it's definitely worthwhile.
