Maybe this just wasn't for me. The first thing that I struggled with were Cora's journal entries - they just didn't sound like a 12 year old. It very much read like an adult trying to write for a child. The book was a long, slow burn from multiple POVs, which isn't really my thing apparently. I felt there was a lot of build up for not a whole lot of resolution.
