I knew this was gonna be better than Sure Thing—and, for me, it was—but I didn't think I'd be so unsatisfied. Daisy and Kyle had so much potential, both as individual characters and as a couple, but development was lacking. I don't usually mind inner monologues, especially in Jana Aston books, where the humour and whimsy are refreshing. With this one, though, I felt like it overpowered the story and interactions. There was little to no chemistry between Daisy and Kyle, which was a bummer. I didn't feel anything for them. When Kyle confessed, it felt forced. There were lots of scenes that Daisy talked about that could have helped establish their connection, but it was just that. Just talked about, not shown. I wouldn't even mind this book being a bit longer if we were shown more meaningful interaction between Daisy and Kyle.
Still, it's Jana Aston, so I had fun reading it despite the lukewarm romance.
