I just found it a bit.. meh.. when I’d got past 50% in and nothing had happened, and the Unwanted Inheritance was still where it was for the first half of the book I was a bit bored. I did like the characters and you can see your family in them, that was the good part, but there wasn’t really a twist and it wasn’t really that gripping. I finished it because I didn’t want to leave it unread on KU.

This was ok. A lot of to-ing and fro-I g and hair pulling for what turned out to be a bit of an unsatisfactory ending to be honest.

Hmmm. I really hated most of these characters. Caroline was the closest to someone I thought I could like, but even so, she was a right wet blanket. The ending didn’t feel like much resolution at all, which I found a bit unsatisfying. Though, probably most realistic.

Another book that got lost in my reading lull.

I always look forward to Imogen Clark's books. This one I'd read some reviews of before starting (as I was in the lull rather than reading it immediately) and was a little worried by them.

This is another good book from Imogen, although not my favourite of hers. Thought provoking (what would you do if you found £250,000+ under a bed?) and introduces well written, somewhat complex characters.

I wish the siblings had discovered the brother trying to find the money in the house to keep for himself, that would have added an extra layer of tension. The characters all had their flaws, meaning some characters were really dislikeable. The tension they created wasn't really addressed - I wouldn't forgive some of the things that were said/done but the ending implies they move past it without any apologies.

Thanks to the Publisher and NetGalley for an advanced ebook version in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to Goodreads and Amazon Publishing for this Kindle book that I won in a Goodreads giveaway.
This is a novel about a family faced with a decision that could tear them apart. Three adult siblings, two who are very close including spouses and the youngest, Nathan who has a gambling problem that he has kept hidden.

When their father passes away suddenly, Max, the oldest along with his wife, Carolyn, go to his home to collect his cat. While searching for the cat Carolyn finds a suitcase under a bed that is filled with cash…..a lot of cash. The dilemma begins. Where did the money come from? Was it tainted? Should they report it, or simply split it up? Everyone has their opinion and of course those opinions clash!

I enjoyed this story, but I thought it was a bit too wordy and it did dwell too long on many details. We did gain a deep understanding of the characters, however and I was somewhat surprised at the end.
3⭐️ for me.
