Readable prose, but you can see how Simenon was able to churn these out. Popinga's psychology felt obvious and hollow. I won’t be rushing to read his other four hundred novels.

Libro bellissimo, Simenon si conferma ancora una volta un grandissimo scrittore.
Quando il protagonista
si dà alla fuga mi ha ricordato molto "I Baffi" di Carrere.

Ugh... what a pompous, arrogant, annoying little shit of a character! Kees Popinga was so full of himself it was extremely offputting.

"L'uomo che guardava passare i treni" è un libro che mi ha rapito: l'ho iniziato stamattina e sono già qui a dire che l'ho finito. Ti viene proprio da berlo, pagina per pagina, con l'intento di leggere la storia di Kees Popinga. Questo racconto, macabro e allo stesso tempo divertente, è un viaggio introspettivo nella mente di un "paranoico", che prende un po' le forme della cartina di Parigi.
Il libro è scritto molto bene, è interessante e coinvolgente: sicuramente una lettura che consiglierei.
