It’s been twelve years since June Broaden has seen her high school enemy (and secret crush), Ryan Henderson. Now’s her chance to get even. Ryan is back in town for her best friend’s wedding, and June is eager to show the former bully exactly what he missed out on. What’s she’s not expecting, though, is for Ryan to show up looking like Adonis and touting his own career success as the youngest chef to ever win three Michelin stars.

This was my second book from Sarah Adams, and I can say I’m now a fan of hers. If you know me, you know I love intelligent banters, and they were abundant in this. June was so funny, I chuckled out loud in places reading this. And Ryan was totally successful in always rubbing her the wrong way, oftentimes on purpose, it was so much fun.

I wasn’t completely a fan of June’s reasons for avoiding relationships, but I loved the efforts Ryan made to court and convince her that he was worth it.

The multi-cast audiobook was done really well, with the banters delivered perfectly.

This book was absolutely adorable and wholesome—I’m seriously melting from all the love! It’s the kind of story that pulls at your heartstrings, and I’m not even exaggerating when I say I spent three hours crying in the bathtub, praying to God and wondering when it’ll be my turn to find love like this. Sarah Adams has officially set the bar for men in romance novels, and honestly, anything less just feels criminal!

First off, let’s talk about Ben—F BEN 🤠! But now, let’s give June the praise she deserves because she is an absolute queen! She’s smart, funny, beautiful, and I adored every moment of her character arc. Her journey, especially dealing with the raw emotions after a bad relationship, felt so real and relatable. I couldn’t get enough of her!

And Ryan… don’t even get me started. This man had me weak in the knees from the start. He’s the kind of guy you pray to God for, and if not him, then who?! He was so sweet and enchanting—giving serious Mr. Darcy vibes—and I couldn’t help but fall for him. This book is the reason I’ll always be a hopeless romantic!
