This follows Hyonse's escape from North Korea and how she helps her family. The author provided some context to what life in North Korea was like and the struggles she faced living there and to leave.

This was an incredibly powerful memoir and I learned a lot about North Korea. I definitely didn’t want to put it down!

This story seems way too crazy to be true!  The author is a woman born in North Korea who through impulsive decisions, crazy luck and terrible government rule escaped from her own country and tries to navigate the world outside.  I cannot fathom living through even a tenth of what she lived through, and it’s an incredibly powerful story.  Highly recommend.
