I had trouble getting through this book. This is a reallyyyy good kids book like I would've loved this as a elementary/early middle schooler. It has really good world building and a cool plotline. It kinda gave me mysterious benedict society vibes. However I think I'm just too old to read this book lol normally I don't have that much trouble reading kids books but this one was hard for me to get through.

This was a really good book and I would recommend this to anybody who loves science fiction and fantasy. The main character of this book Artemis Fowl was very interesting to read about, in particular his relationship with the Butler family. I also liked the relationship between Root and Foaly.

Highly entertaining and really fascinating characters! Artemis and Holly were both complex and not completely good, but I was rooting for them both anyways.

Needed a safety childhood reread and this was definitely it. One star removed for an unexpected use of the ableist M slur
