This time it's a current case with lots of twists and possible suspects.  More serious than the first book.

Honestly, although I didn't like this book as much as the first one, I say it's most definitely a good sequel to the first book, but I still liked it. However, I feel like the build-up (not the ending itself, but the build-up) toward the end was a bit out of left field. I just wish there were clues to how things went toward the end and the plot twist.
Spoiler I felt like the whole Brunswick killer thing came out of nowhere. If Pip had referred to it in passing or looked at it before when examining cases of missing people earlier in the book then yeah it would've made a bit of sense, but nope. I liked how the author handled it, but I just wished she would've introduced it better. However, it still doesn't negate the impact of Stanley's death. My gosh! Poor Pip! If I didn't think she was traumatized in book 1, well, she is most definitely traumatized after this. She literally watched a man get shot six times right in front of her eyes with his blood all over her and watched him die. All at the ripe age of 18. Like what the heck?! I really hope she's seeing a therapist in book 3 (i'm typing this review a few days after I finished book 3 and sadly even therapy couldn't help my girl, Pip😭😖).

The book was really good but make sure that you read the first book in series for some of the references in this one.

This was a great second book and I can’t wait to read the third. Pip and Ravi being back at another case should feel the same, but there was something about this time that just felt more dark and gritty. I’m happy the author doesn’t water down the story for a more YA feel, the story is just as I could imagine it in adult fiction just with a YA cast.
A perfect book for fall.

Crying score: yup

Jackson does it again in the sequel to AGGGTM. Pippa once again investigates as her friends older brother goes missing and the police won't investigate. In this new installment Pippa is determined to rescue her friends brother and return him safely. This new book retains all the joy and intrigue of the first while remaining different from the first books story. The only way this is really bad though is because Sal is in this book way less than the first unfortunately. I am so excited to see where Jackson takes the story into the second and accompanying novella.

OK. How do I even start? Another wild ride as usual. And just like the previous book, it did not take long at all before I was absolutely hooked. definitely a point there. Was not expecting that sad and intense ending, and I am equal parts intrigued and very, very nervous for what the next book has in store for me. The plot was very well planned and thought out as always (thank you Holly Jackson), and the Brunswick part of the story kinda took me off guard, but in a great way, and I love how it tied into the whole story! I did think that Jamie Reynolds' motivations and purpose in the whole thing was a bit ridiculous, but the again, I don't know what goes on thru the minds of 24 year old having an existential crisis, therefore I have no right to judge. I'm just glad he was actually alive and well this time, unlike our first victims.

That's all for now, I had absolute blast as always, and I'm very excited for the finale!!
