Loved this instalment in the AGGGTM series.

I found this book was less lighthearted than the first (a strange choice of words to describe a murder investigation I know) as Pip had matured and learnt from her innocence and naivety in the first book. Where in the first book Pip was obsessive on trying to solve the murder, without really considering the impacts of her investigation on those involved, this book saw Pip much more aware of those around her and how they could be affected by what she was uncovering. The events in the first book had also clearly impacted Pip - she was angrier and clearly had some trauma to deal with. I felt she did this well as she learnt to accept who she was, but she definitely has even more trauma to handle after this book!

I really enjoy the format of this series, with the mix of the investigation, the podcast episodes and the story-telling. There were fewer inserts of the investigation notes and podcast recordings as the book went on and the action ramped up.
The side characters are really likeable too, especially Ravi, as he supports Pip no matter what, despite the trauma he’s faced in his own life. Pip’s other friends featured less heavily in this book, except Connor who the story focused on.

The big reveal and rationale of this mystery was thought provoking, and interesting to consider how different people react when secrets like this are uncovered. I actually felt really sad for the characters at the end, especially Pip as she is clearly traumatised right now.

Really looking forward to book 3 and would recommend this book to mystery fans.

A solid installment to the series. I love Pip & Ravi. Certain parts of this book felt overly melodramatic which took me out of it slightly. The ending came out of left field(!) and I didn't love it. This book didn't have the same emotional impact on me as the first book in this series.

For the most part I didn’t find this as gripping as the other entries in this series, but in the last hundred pages it becomes impossible to put down. This book is haunting. The world within is sick and twisted but so devastatingly real. I have never read a series as terrifying as AGGGTM.
