Credit where credit is due, someone writing copy at Melville House sold me the hell out of this book: “a stylish debut novel about a young man whose reality unravels when he suspects his employers have inadvertently discovered time travel and are covering up a string of violent crimes.”

Mysterious, malicious workplaces! Unpacking trauma! Identity! Pop culture! Disgraced tech giants! Time travel! Keywords I love! While the tangles of the plot sometimes left me rereading passages to make sure I was understanding and there were points (especially in the last quarter) where I fell out of the narrative and worried the book was starting to lose me, ultimately Jinwoo Chong pulled it off. I'd never want to spoil the end of this book for anyone but I'm so glad it went where it went.  A marvelous, tangled, thrilling read.
