this book was good, just not for me - probably it’s time, I’m not in the mood or kinda in a slump, idk
but it just didn’t do it.
the beginning did tho! the characters were amazing so idk why I didn’t enjoy them more. the plot was just too much! I mean it sounded fun, but I couldn’t care less.
I think adventure books just aren’t for me
It’s such an important story tho, very diverse, definitely too optimistic, but it’s good when it’s queer joy
But idk - meh. wish I’d enjoyed it more

This book was just fine for me. I didn't dislike it nor did I particularly like it.

The characters were entertaining to read. I liked reading about them but I wouldn't want to read a sequel about them. I think Percy was my favorite character, he was so sweet! The plot was fun and entertaining at the moment but it is not a book that I will remember forever.

I would recommend this book to those who like historical fiction that is for young adults. It's a fun adventure story and involves finding yourself which was fun to read. It was a good story but nothing fantastic for me.

See võttis allaes aega.

Üldiselt huvitav, seiklusrikas.

Tegelased olid siuksed tüübid eksole.

Võib olla loen järgmisi osi.

Võib olla ei loe.

Eks me näe.

I did not expect to encounter a character with epilepsy, another who steals in order to be as petty and possible, and a third who is passionate about medicine, but believes that same-sex relationships are a sin. This book is solid! I would warn families to read the first few pages to make sure it is appropriate for their child/teen, but the sex scenes tend to be vague and implied moreso than, say, CHoover or SJMaas. So, read on!

"Everyone has a rough go. I've had it far easier than most people."
"Maybe. But that doesn't mean your feelings matter less."

I knew I was going to like this book, but I didn't think I'd love it THIS much.

I found this book so fun. I loved the adventure they all go on. I loved seeing them getting into mischief (usually Monty) and seeing them all figure out how to get out of the situation. This book looks thick, but I flew through it (and very quickly considering I was in school). I also loved how most of this book is humorous, yet important topics (like sexuality and race) are woven in and never disrupts the flow of the book. That made love how the book was written.

Percy and Monty are two characters that have been added onto my “So Precious I Want to Keep Miniature Sized Versions In My Pocket”. I absolutely loved these characters. I loved their relationship. I loved their conversations and seeing their characters develop. But there were a few times in the beginning where Monty did annoy me, but by the end I loved him.

Felicity was hands down my favorite characters. (I was going to say I really want a spin-off novel about Felicity and I just checked aND THERE ACTUALLY IS GOING TO BE ON SO I’M PUMPED). She was just so smart, so calm in distressing situations, and just overall badass. I also loved seeing her and Monty's relationship grow. I loved seeing those two become closer than how they were when the book started.

"She glances up at at us-Percy looking very obviously away and me swooning against the artillery.
And rolls her eye. ‘Men are such babies.’ "

That quote alone made me love Felicity. I am so so so excited to read more from her perspective.

I picked the perfect time to read this book. In my European History class, we are currently in this era (well technically we're about a hundred years behind than when the book starts but its still around the same time) and I understood nearly every reference the book makes. That is something that rarely happens for me. History is one of my favorite subjects, so when I understand certain events and know certain people that are mentioned, it makes me enjoy the book 10x more.

I haven't read a good historical fiction book in awhile, and this book reminded me why I love the genre so much. And I cannot wait to read more from this author.
