I hate to say this, I did not finish this one. It was a struggle. In my opinion, not Erik Larson's best. It was slow, very heavy focus on the telegraphy. I could not get into the story. After half-way, I'm putting it aside.

Certainly did not hold the same captivating interest that Devil in the White City has. By the middle, I was growing bored, especially with the constant science and technology jargon being described at length. The last 90 pages were the best part, but I almost DNFed before I got there.

I have enjoyed other books by Larson, but this one was just tedious. I had to will myself to finish. The Marconi chapters were tedious. Also, while I know that Larson is known for his many rabbit trails, this book took that to a new extreme.
