A bit awkward in the beginning and definitely predictable throughout the book, but in the end it was kinda cute.

I’ve read a whole bunch of cutesy Christmas books and this was by far my favorite. Is it light and fluffy? Yes. But it also has really enjoyable characters, a plot that actually makes sense all set around Christmas in England.

Extremely cute story to listen to, when you are feeling down because of the war and end of the year.

I am delightfully surprised by this audible original book! It is a light hearted Christmas rom-com and exactly what I wanted to read. I enjoyed the characters and the rom-com tropes were done in a clever way.

This was a warm and cozy cup of eggnog wrapped up in a book. I would watch this as a Hallmark movie in a heartbeat. It’s cute and funny and the perfect quick read for the holidays

I really enjoyed this one! It was sweet, yet deep, and even had some laugh-out-loud moments. A wonderful holiday novella!

This was another book that was recommended and on offer by Audible for December, and again I thought why not? At it's worst it'll be like a Hallmark Christmas movie, and they can be quite enjoyable in the right mood? So I made the very cheap purchase and started listening whilst I was on my last few days of work before going on my Christmas break.

It was the perfect 'getting me in the mood for Christmas' story and I managed to read the whole thing in a day or two. The story centres on Lily, just back from Australia for the first time in seven years to spend Christmas at her mum's house in a small English village. To her surprise/horror, she returns to find that her mother is now living with the man who was formerly their next door neighbour, and who also happens to be the father of her ex-boyfriend Tom.

You know how this goes. Forced to spend time with Tom they re-kindle their romance and live happily ever after. But not without some bumps on their road to happiness. I'm not going to confirm or deny if this is how this particular story goes, but it was enjoyable enough even if I did guess the ending back in chapter 1.

I really didn't expect to like a story this predictable, but the characters really made it for me. The mum-daughter relationship was lovely, and while I'm confident there aren't really men like Tom, or his dad tbh, it was really nice spending time in this fantasy world. And being EXACTLY like a book version of a cheesy Hallmark movie, just like I thought it would be, it was perfect for the run up to Christmas.
