I really enjoyed most of this short story but needed it to be longer. And for a specific reason: Isabel is not a likeable MC and even though she changes during the story, it wasn't long enough for us to grow to like her.

I mean wth leave me hanging like that? I just listened to the whole book. Now, now I have to wait until July for the next one and then there also will be a third book. I mean I love that in all. But dang it. How can you leave it with that? Ha ha
I enjoy these characters they are definitely pretty cool. I think I'm a little bit Sophie and a little bit Isabel. Isabel trying to run from her past with the book store and their mother's death and father. But always hiding away to read. And Sophie being the adult out of the sisters and caring for her daughter and the book store is a lot for one person. But she intends to keep the promise the sisters made to their father.
When Isabel comes back home to help she hadn't realized just how much help was needed. Will she stay now that there really isn't anything for her back home? I mean she has a niece and a sister and now Johnny maybe again.
I for one cannot wait to find out.

For such a short story, it is well written and still manages to have emotional impact. definitely had potential to be fleshed out a bit more, though.

Reads like the Wikipedia synopsis of a movie + some moments of overdescribing that took me out of it. Fervently disliked the way this was written
