Could’ve taken a hint from its name and been more direct and/or speedy at times, but overall an enjoyable read propped up by its characters. Plus it was fun to relive a childhood favorite with numerous references to Thomas the Tank Engine.

DarkHumor❌Violence. it's a Shinkansen indeed, almost impossible to get off in the middle.

This book is pure unadulterated chaos and I love it! It is a satirical comedy of errors, with a fascinating and endearing cast of characters. Tangerine and Lemon in particular are hilarious. They are incredibly dangerous yet seem to be bumbling about the train. The psychological manipulation from the Prince adds an eerie element to the madness. I will be fascinated to see how they adapt this for screen!

I did not think I would get so hooked into this story but I was craving the details. I was craving the action. I wanted to know what was going to happen next and how it was going to end. And WOW. What a ride that was to read though!

This film tie in is well worth a read, I loved the different character aspects of this book, from Tangerine and Lemon to Nanao, the Prince and Kimura. The whole book is set on the train and the fact that you are essentially trapped while it's in motion, makes it all seem more dangerous. The simple job of transferring the suitcase gets complicated.

I haven't seen the film yet but will look into it after reading this!
