4⭐️ 3.5🌶️

MOOD: lighthearted, funny
TROPES: age gap, forbidden love, polyamorous
FAV QUOTE: He wasn’t that needy, was he? But he also loved hanging out with Mo and Dean all day and night. Okay, yeah, that’s a lot. They didn’t need to be in each other’s pockets.

THE GOOD: This series is a great example of cozy (& kinky) monster romances and an instant-read for me. This relationship is between 2 humans (40 & 20) and an alien hyrid. The 40 year old mentions he's the most "vanilla" of the group even though he's the most experienced and that was a cute-funny moment. Overall, the characters and plot work really well and it's a cute, lighthearted read with some emotional moment.s Also, I can't remember if this was spelled out in the first book (A Sea Monster's Mate), but it's pronounced "Suh-kay-li-uh."

THE NEUTRAL:
THE MEH: This is going to sound odd and didn't affect my rating but I had a moment that broke my suspension of disbelief. It happens in the epilogue (which is 6 months later) and mentions "He’d gotten a few articles published..." There is just no way that happened in that timeframe if they were research articles.
