Spoiler I enjoyed this but kinda preferred it if there were less sex scenes (wc were hot) and more elaboration towards the end. I dig the widow set-up since these situations aren't typically talked about. Wished there were also more to the other couple's plot, even just bits. That said, I might continue reading the rest of the series because of Suz-Ryder and Imogen-Ty.

They've had sex like 5 times and I am still not attached to either MMC, MFC, or their relationship (can I even say they have one?) There's just not really enough plot happening for me and we're a quarter through, so nope.

I really liked this book. It was funny, it was unpredictable and the best way to start a series. I loved the ending, it wasn't one of those forced endings where the hero and heroine HAVE to get together, no matter how unrealistic.

Elec is a sweetheart, even as I continued to read the rest of the series Elec remained to be my best guy. He was sweet, understanding, loving and hot hot hot in bed. I mean, was Erin reading my mind when she wrote this book? It surprised me, and it made me look forward to the rest of the characters' stories.

This series is the best series as far as racing series go. Very hot alpha males in the race circuit and this author doesn't disappoint with such a steamy read.

There were a lot of things I loved about this book and the central relationship, but there was one aspect of it that really drove me crazy. The book set up a dichotomy between good women (intelligent and mature) and bad women (shallow and slutty). The bad women aren't written with any nuance or empathy, they are just either evil sluts or dumb sluts. Part of me wants to continue in the series because this book set up the next two romantic pairings pretty well and I want to see how those stories play out, but I don't know if I can stomach more of this portrayal of women.

It was good as a romance. Steamy in some places, but not as hot as I thought it was going to be. Still I enjoyed it and I will be reading the next in the series

A good romance over all, but for some reason it fell a little flat for me. I enjoyed the stroy and there was some humor. Elec came off as a great guy, and Tamras kids were so cute. But it just didn't fully grab me. Not sure if I'll read more in this series or not, over all 3 stars.

So why couldn’t she bring herself to like him? Because maybe somewhere deep inside her she still felt the need for speed. For excitement.

Uhm yes. Where do I begin?

You know those cheap books that are about the typical love sex story between the average looking woman looking for a lifetime commitment and the hottest guy on the planet running from it with all his might? Yes? Are you into them? No? Good. Then avoid this like Satan avoids holy water.

My problems with this book:
1. Cheesy
2. Painfully boring
3. Not funny
4. Terrible writing style
5. Stupid stupid stupid stupid

My reactions while reading Flat-Out Sexy
*hmph*
*yawn*
*wtf*
*omg my eyes started to burn*
*where’s the toilet paper?*

Other issues:
The chick is talking about her dead husband and the dude is trying his best to see what thongs she’s wearing. Since page 24.
Screwing from chapter two. Who needs a story anyway? Pornography pays very well.

Bottom line: horrible! Two chapters are enough for me.

P.S. The cover sucks balls.

I've read quite a few Erin McCarthy novels and Flat-Out Sexy is one I always come back too, as the story line never fails to capture both my imagination and my attention. As Tamara a race car widow with two adorable kids Petey whose 9 and more interested in bugs than cars and Hunter, whose 7 and a race car fanatic are bowled over by rookie driver Elec. But Tamara has sworn of drivers after the tragic death of her husband Pete and no matter how hot, and sexy Elec makes her feel she's determined to stay far away. Yet, Elec and her friends are determined not to take no for an answer and Elec's wooing of Tamara and her children is so much fun and sweet to read.

Plus, this story has some major chemistry going on. Not to mention hot scenes whenever Elec lures Tamara into bed which to be fair happens quite a lot! And really, it's just a great contemporary romance that I genuinely love rereading. So if you're yet to read anything by Ms McCarthy please consider Flat-Out Sexy, as you won't be disappointed.
