Nothing could have prepared me for the sheer brilliance of this book. Nothing.

It's the captivating tale of four orphans, led by the sharp-minded Reynie Muldoon. These kids, all having faced family tragedies in their own ways, may seem average at first glance, but their destinies intertwine when they're brought together by a mysterious test. This test is no ordinary one; it's designed to identify individuals capable of taking on an underground mission, one fraught with peril, where the stakes are nothing short of saving—or potentially destroying—the world.

The beauty of this book lies in its unparalleled creativity and intrigue. The characters, including the brainy Sticky, clever Reynie, spritely Kate, and the ever-annoying Constance, come to life in a way that's both real and charming. The plot not only offers a gripping story but also carries a deeper metaphorical meaning, making it an enriching read for all ages.

One of the best children's book series around!! I read this when I was a kid and knew I loved it, but was still met with jaw-dropping revelations even while knowing some of the plot. The writing is fantastic, the characters are wonderful, this is my comfort book without a doubt.

FINALLY. I must be the only one in the world that doesn't like this book. Everyone I know is overjoyed even when it's mentioned. It took me like 6 months to read this aloud. We just didn't get into it but stuck it out in the hopes it'd get better. The way everything perfectly ended up in the end...really?

This was such a great mystery. I didn't know where it was leading, how they would make it, or that this book would be so good! I was gifted this book 14years ago and didn't have the focus for it as a child but I wish I had sat and read this. A middle schooler would love this. An adult would love this. It's amazing.

What a great mysterious adventure book! It had so many twists and turns, yet it is easy to process for children. I love it!
