A book about two highly unlikable women fighting over the affection of one innocent man. The psychological downfall of the titular girlfriend is far too rushed and is painted as unjustified after the horrible deeds the mother inflicts on her. Moral of the story is "being poor and ambitious makes you a bad person and basically a psychopath".

I enjoyed this book and the way it went back and forth between characters in a sort of unorganised way. I think this book really demonstrated that everyone is grey. You sympathise with the two main characters (one way more than the other in my opinion) even though they both do terrible things. I wish the tension was built more and it became even more fast paced towards the end. The ending was a but weak but still enjoyable.
