2.5 stars. Originally I put a 3 because I felt a 2 was just too low be used I did enjoy reading this. But I hated a lot about it. I don't like when people stay together and have an open relationship. I couldn't care if someone did it, I just don't like my romance books to have it. It's not romantic, and I don't like the to see the consequences of it. I don't like people who fuck around and get mad someone else is. I don't like when people tell someone it's okay to fuck around and then get upset when they find out. So Jenny and Stantons relationship from the get go made me not just mad but nauseous. Stanton really does come across as self absorbed and selfish because he's so clueless to people's feelings and I just personally don't like my romance heroes like that. The sex was stellar, but I didn't even really like the heroine if I'm completely honest.
Things could of course have been smoother if there was communication, I wanted more of his daughter, and for the first time in a long time when finishing a first in a series, I don't really wish to continue. I was a little interested in the hero for book two during reading but he excerpt left me feeling like the first book did. Maybe I'm not a super fan of Emma Chases writing or something because I read tangled and loved it, but didn't at the same time even if I rated it highly I still had issues but I think it was a lot more funny than this and that's why I rated it highly. I dunno, his just wasn't for me.

I went into this fully expecting to hate this book, especially after reading other reviews. But I actually fully enjoyed it. Now the whole push and pull of him wanting both women was tedious and annoying.. and for that I’d give it closer to 3.7 stars BUT I feel like his behavior was somewhat understandable, not necessarily that it made perfect sense but understandable for someone who didn’t recognize that not all love has to be romantic love. Amongst a few other things. I did also feel like the story came full circle!

Całość wydaje mi się przereklamowana, gdyż gdzie nie spojrzymy, bombardowani jesteśmy tym z każdej strony. Utwory muzyczne, wiersze, książki czy rzemiosło artystyczne w postaci obrazów lub szkiców, aż krzyczy i mówi: pamiętaj, że miłość otacza Cię ze wszech stron. Jak to więc się stało, że do moich rąk trafił egzemplarz książki „Unieważnienie” Emmy Chase?
Waszyngtoński obrońca Stanton Shaw, nazywany przez innych Uwodzicielem Przysięgłych jest mężczyzną, któremu trudno jest się oprzeć. Co się stanie, gdy pewnego dnia dostanie on zaproszenie na ślub swojej licealnej miłości i matki jego dziecka? Jak to wydarzenie wpłynie na życie Stantona? Jak wpłynie to na jego towarzyszkę Sofię Santos, której proponuje wyjazd, by odzyskać ukochaną? „Młodzieńcza miłość jest silna. Pierwsza miłość jest potężna. Czytając powieść miałam wrażenie, iż za dużo, zdecydowanie za dużo w niej intymnych scen, które poniekąd mnie odstraszały i zniechęcały do kontynuowania historii. „I nagle zdajecie sobie sprawę – nagle jesteście pewni – jak głębokie żywicie do kogoś uczucia, uświadamiacie sobie, ile ta osoba dla was znaczy, kiedy stajecie twarzą w twarz z możliwością jej straty.” Udając się dalej w podróż czytelniczą stwierdziłam, że poniekąd książka jest warta tego aby po nią sięgnąć. Dlaczego? Odpowiedź jest prosta – bohaterowie. Są oni przejrzyści i kolorowi i zabawni. Powieść zawiera wiele komediowych wątków, za co dziękuję autorce, a postacie dodają temu wszystkiemu humorystyczny wyraz. Akcja książki toczy się szybko, ja zdążyłam przeczytać ją jednego dnia. „Emocje uderzają mnie w pierś niczym niszcząca kula w teledysku Miley Cyrus.” Muszę jednak nadmienić, iż nie czuję niedosytu po skończonej powieści i wątpię, czy przeczytam kolejne tomy. Nie jest to jednak gatunek dla mnie i właśnie zdałam sobie z tego sprawę, ale osobom, które lubią zatracić się w miłosnych historiach na pewno powieść „Unieważnienie” Emmy Chase mogę polecić bez problemu. Dla fanów powieści kryminalnych może to być zły lub niesatysfakcjonujący wybór. Na sam koniec chciałabym podziękować Emmie Chase oraz osobom z portalu lubimyczytac.pl za wybranie mojego pytania do autorki oraz nagrodzenia mnie książką.

Lo mejor de este libro es la portada. Aunque entiendo lo que pretendía la autora con esto, la ejecución no ha sido buena. Se supone que el punto central de este libro va sobre los amores del pasado y cómo tu primer amor no es siempre el definitivo y cómo hay muchos tipos de amor... y me parece bien. De hecho, la relación entre Stanton y Jenny es super bonita y los dos tienen una química muy buena. Si el libro solo hubiera ido de eso, estaría muy bien, pero es que esto es una novela romántica. ¿Y quién es la protagonista de esta novela romántica? Aunque no lo parezca, se llama Sofía y sale de vez en cuando, ahí por el fondo. No lo sé, porque apenas sale nada y casi no tiene escenas con el tipo este. Es la amiga "con beneficios" de Stanton, que apenas tiene desarrollo, trama propia, o cualquier tipo de personalidad aparte de ser una abogada badass™ (aunque no se la ve haciendo nada de abogada en todo el libro salvo "trabajar en casos" muy vagamente) y sufrir en silencio porque se ha pillado del imbécil de Stanton. Sí, Stanton es un imbécil al que quería meterle un sillazo en la cara durante tres cuartas partes de esto. ¿Cómo? ¿CÓMO tienes los huevazos de llevarte a tu amiga con beneficios a tu pueblo, a casa de tu familia, para que te ayude a recuperar a tu ex novia? ¿Y sigues acostándote con ella mientras tanto? A este chaval te juro que le dio un aire al nacer o algo así. No sé, este señor me daba muchas vibes de The Man de Taylor Swift, haciendo el fucking bare minimun y todo el mundo adorándolo como si hubiera inventado el rebozado del KFC. Also, el epílogo es raro, es como si estuviera incompleto. Lo único que me ha gustado de aquí ha sido el amigo Brent, pero viendo cómo está el nivel no sé si me leeré su libro

A fast read. I really enjoyed the book and the characters. It was nice to have a cameo appearance from Drew. Sadly, the cameo appearance reminded me how much I miss Drew!

I really enjoyed this book. Not sure why, I thought I wouldn't like it as much as I did but in the end full on butterflies. A few things that annoyed me, some of the bigger ones being: the drawn out end, the all to obvious 'storm' analogy, and the insistence that he was a really good father when I didn't see any excuse for him not seeing his daughter more often (not saying he was a 'bad' father, but he was given too much credit is all). I liked Stanton's potty mouth, made me laugh when he got worked up and cursed. Generally, I don't like books that happen over a span of a week or so, but it really worked here and didn't give me the annoying instalove annoying vibe that usually comes with quick time lines. Maybe it was the well set up history, not sure, but it just worked. Overall a cute quick read with likable characters.
