When two kids are broken it’s heartwarming to see them fix each other. Blakely and Jasper are high school seniors just trying to make sense out of life. Jasper with his chip on his shoulder and Blakely with a reputation she didn’t deserve.

Through the ups and downs of their lives they find solace in each other. But is that enough ?

Rachel Leigh does an amazing job telling a story, she paints a compelling picture that won’t let you look away. You won’t be able to put this one down, you want to see what happens.

This is my first book by the author. This is Jasper and Blakely. Jasper is the new kid he that now attends Redwood High and really he’d rather be back at his old high school but fate doesn’t always play nice and now he finds himself attending the new school, on a new football team and out of sorts. Blakely is a classic mean girl she rules because it keeps her from getting hurt because even the polished outside doesn’t hold a candle to her tarnished insides. What Jasper sees is a Queen B and knows she’s nothing but trouble with a capital T. They avoid each other neither having any use for the other until they end up paired for a school assignment and have to deal with one another.

She's done it again! I absolutely can't get enough of Rachel Leighs books! Although I read the newer books first, I'd always planned to go back and read the original Redwood High tales. The way the story of "Like Gravity" builds and builds is excruciating; like, you know the big fall out is coming, but you can't figure out what the catalyst will be. I loved Blakely, with her unique and misunderstood personality. She's a little lost in the secrets and deceptions of her family, but that's where Jasper comes swaggering through to shake things up. The emotions, particularly the anger, Leigh projects off the page, is intense and surreal. I loved the way the tale wrapped up, neatly and beautifully, with a teasing look of what's to come in book 2, Knox's story. I also want to mention that Blakely's brother, Talon, has his turn in the spotlight with Leigh's interconnected series, Redwood Rebels (Amazing series by the way.)

This was a fun read. I liked that Blakely is a strong girl and tries to stand up for herself. She's rough around the edges and it took me a little bit to like her, but once you see her family situation and how much she cares for her brother, she becomes more relatable. Jasper is a good guy character, he's been thrown into something he didn't want and is just trying to make it to graduation. He can be a jerk sometimes and I think that's why he and B make a good match. They push each other's buttons, but also have a lot in common and helped each other work through some things.

B and Jasper have good chemistry and I also enjoyed the family element, "sticks in a bundle are stronger together" is a great line. I think it will be fun to get Knox's story next since I'm curious what's going on in his head.
