An interesting scifi book, I enjoyed how different each persons story was and the writing that went along with each person and the surprising way they each were connected to Hyperion. Will need to get the sequel as the ending kind of left you hanging.

Christ.

Marvelous book. Ends on the most obvious cliffhanger-of-cliffhangers that would've repulsed me had the story not been so wonderful before it.

It is most impressive how many different types of stories Simmons told through this. Historical, anthropological, religious, family, detective noir, all firmly rooted in science fiction.

Masterful.

Twenty hours of my life I'll never get back. If I had imagined a sci fi version if The Canterbury Tales, published in 1989, in which the universe is obsessed with John Keats for some reason... it would have been a lot more interesting than this.

I chose this book because of the great things I heard but it spent it's time bouncing between small interesting bits and extended boring bits not seemingly making any progress to the main story
