This book is pure magic. I liked it even better than the first one. Another 5 stars for Stargirl

I liked this book better than the first because it embraced stargirl and I loved hearing this Tory from her perspective. Very special read

I loved this book and hated it at the same time. If you loved [b:Stargirl|22232|Stargirl (Stargirl, #1)|Jerry Spinelli|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1335947642s/22232.jpg|963221], you'll like this book. If you hated Stargirl, don't even think about reading this.
At the beginning, it basically has no plot. Stargirl still loves Leo. She is doing basically nothing. The whole book is written in Stargirl's one long letter to Leo. [Seperated by days, of course.] Which gets a little creepy, because Stargirl thinks about Leo all the time. Then she meets her cute 6-year-old neighbor, Dootsie. She's pretty funny, but the book was still pretty dull. Then, Alvina, the bully got thrown into the mix. I ended up really liking her, and the book got a little more bearable- yet if I didn't need to read a lot for my reading contract, I would have probably stopped reading when she got introduced. But when Perry the bandit gets thrown into the mix along with all of his girlfriends- that is what saved this book from getting a rating of one star.
Yes, the ending was cute.
Yes, I did like the book.
But you can like a book and think that it wasn't that good too. I was expecting so much more than what I got.
I mean, couldn't Stargirl meet Leo again?
This book had the potential to be a star [like Stargirl-bad puns haha], but it really was a sequel just for the fans and seemed like more of a Stargirl fanfiction than an actual sequel, just like the Cursed Child.
That being said, I loved [b:Stargirl|22232|Stargirl (Stargirl, #1)|Jerry Spinelli|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1335947642s/22232.jpg|963221], so I liked the book.
Another side note: Sequels are always lousy compared to the rest of the books. If I asked someone what their favorite Lunar Chronicles book was, and they said Scarlet, I would have probably punched them. No offense to Marrisa Meyer- She's my favorite author. That was just an example.
So... three stars. Nothing less, nothing more. Just mediocre, like this book was.
But Perry tho!
Okay, this review is done. Go to bed.

I loved Stargirl, it will always be one of my all-time favorite books. However I felt that the sequel took away from the essence of Stargirl and what gave it such a deep-rooted place in my heart.

This book was about Stargirl, and how she is doing in her new part of the US.
The whole book is written in a letter form. A big letter just for Leo, though he will never ever get to see the letter.
She talks in the letters about her life in the new state, her new friends, her new projects. Luckily in this book she is less noisy, less annoying. But now we got new characters who kind of take over that role. 2 kids specifically.
Also something that annoyed me that it was really hard to guess ages (just like book 1 had). Stargirl eventually is revealed to be 16, while I mostly felt she was 12 or 14. It was all in the way how she acted and talked to people. Same goes for various other characters, I expected them like 10 or 12 or so, and they turn out to be older. That caused some strange scenes though. Like with the new boy she met, I kept finding it strange that she was interacting like an adult, while the guy felt more like he was a kid. And then we find out they are both of the same age...
I really loved this book though, I especially loved the format. The write a big letter to Leo thing was cute and it was wonderfully done.
