I really enjoyed this book. I liked that the drama was low-key instead of very dramatic. The drama and misunderstandings could have gone completely different, so I'm glad it wasn't like that. I'm glad that Riley and Colby's relationship was strong enough to not let Wellington mess it up.

This was sweet but not saccharine. I didn't like Beef at all (teehee) and could see the solution a mile away, but I liked both MC's as well as Colby's family and Riley's sister. The setting was great and I liked the recipes at the end of the book :D

An easy to read writing style and a fairly simple premise made the book quick to read.
Riley is kind of a cinders type, unassuming, self-sacrificing, provider. He settles into ranch life quickly
Spoiler though I do think he could/should have stepped in with his funds solution quicker

Colby is uptight due to the straits that the ranch has ended up in - and willing to do just about anything to save it.
Low angst and I didn't feel the great passion between the guys but a nice story. Whilst part of a series I was certainly able to read stand alone - I think the links to others in the series were passing references at the start.
Big bonus is the recipes

THIS SPAGHETTI WESTERN IS WORTH A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS!

The author provided me with a copy of this book through the Goodreads MM Romance Group's DBML program for an honest review.

I didn't realize how many dark, depressing, angst-filled novels have accumulated on my recently read bookshelf until I had the pleasure of reading Spaghetti Western by EM Lynley. Although there were no bone-chilling, hold my breath as I pull up my big girl panties moments in this book for me, I couldn't wait to turn the next page because I was having so much fun!

Pastry chef Riley Emerson has just graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. He returns to America with the belief that certain things are waiting for him. Like his dream job at the Antelope Inn in Aspen, Colorado, and a faithful boyfriend. Think again! Have you ever decided to surprise someone only to become the person who gets the surprise? Well, that's precisely what happens to Riley when he walks in on his unfaithful lover and finds him having a passionate encounter with another man. Poof! His relationship? Gone! His dream job? Gone! His hope of finding another chef position in Aspen so late in the season? Ditto!

Riley decides to celebrate the collapse of his dreams by getting drunk at a local club where he meets the soon-to-be cowboy of his dreams, Colby Zane. Colby, a perfect gentleman, rescues Riley from an embarrassing situation, takes him back to his hotel room, and suppresses his urge to burn up the sheets because he knows Riley is too drunk to give consent; however, since the sun is not the only thing that rises in the morning, Colby and Riley begin the journey that leads to true love. Of course there are detours along the way which I will not detail.

As the MCs fell in love with each other, I fell in love with them. The cast of secondary characters also add to the charm of this book. In my opinion, Spaghetti Western is one of the most satifying, light-hearted, MM romance novels I've read in quite some time. I laughed out loud and smiled as I turned the pages. If I wasn't surprised by any plot developments and was able to predict the ending, I did not care. I finished reading Spaghetti Western with a sigh of contentment and a smile on my face!

I’m not sure the title Spaghetti Western fits my idea of a Spaghetti Western—the low budget Italian flicks depicting the Old West. ~smiles~ But it does involve some Italian food, and it does have cowboys!

Riley decides to surprise his boyfriend Denny by coming up to Aspen a week early, before starting his new job working at the Antelope Inn. And, boy, was Denny ever surprised… Then the dirty rotten, sneaky snake a-hole had the nerve to get defensive! Riley was waaay too nice about that situation, but, then again, Denny’s loss was another’s gain.

Riley decides that working with Denny at the Antelope Inn is out of the question, so he looks for work at other restaurants. Unfortunately, Riley is not having much luck in finding another summer job. A kind person soon informs him that there’s a job fair, where the local people are looking for summer help during the tourist season, so the night before the job fair, Riley, feeling a bit down over his breakup, decides to visit the local bar.

Colby, said cowboy, happens to come across Riley at the bar while hoping to find some action for the night. When Colby notices that Riley is more than slightly intoxicated and about to be part of a game with a bunch overzealous, horny men, well, Colby comes to the rescue by hefting Riley over his shoulder as he dashes out of the bar.

Although Riley is, understandably, a bit gun shy about relationships, he has no problem thanking the sexy stranger; then, after sobering up enough, quietly sneaking out on his one night stand. But, where would that leave the story if that were all that happened? No, fate does a little maneuvering, and Riley ends up being hired by Colby’s aunt as the main cook at the Rocking Z.

Now, what starts off as a summer fling between Colby and Riley becomes something entirely else as the two men get to know each other. Love just creeps up on the two of them, Fitz just made it a more interesting story, and there were a couple of times I partook in the fantasy of drop kicking this obnoxious dude’s butt over a goal post. Yay, 3 points!

What I really liked about Spaghetti Western, though, is towards the end when Colby realizes something that was quite profound when it came to saving the ranch. So, I’m giving Spaghetti Western a 4 Star rating and am going to love trying the recipes in the back of the book, especially the Sourdough starter recipe!
