I'm sorry, what? Why does this book have a cliffhanger with no indication that there's going to be another book? I was not happy when I got to that ending last night before going to bed because there has to be more to Wren and Theo's story after that. There just has to be.

But anyway! If you're looking for apocalypse romance, this isn't necessarily it (I'd recommend [book:All That’s Left in the World|58329296] by Erik J. Brown instead), but there is the impending end of the world. It feels more like a European road trip novel than anything else, with that romance thrown in. It's a good romance! Wren and Theo are both fully developed characters, and they had good chemistry on the page. They were just generally fun to read about!

However, the ending of this felt a bit rushed to me. I know it's meant to be build up to this huge event that's happening, but then it just kind of....ends? Part of the reason the cliffhanger ending in this particular book is so unsatisfying is because we don't really get any resolution for Wren and Theo. None! I don't need a happily ever after, but it felt like we needed something more than what we got.

Anyway, if you like road trip themed romance and don't mind cliffhangers, this might just be the book for you!

This book was both utterly ridiculous, and completely heartbreaking. A comet is going to hit the earth in 8 days, and all Wren wants is to get home from London to the US so she can say goodbye to her family before all life on earth is wiped out. She falls in with the runaway British crown prince and they roadtrip across Europe to reach a private jet in Greece. The entire premise is bonkers, and it took me a bit to go with the flow, but once I did, I thoroughly enjoyed it. There's also some really good discussion of depression, privilege, classism, and human nature. The ending made me scream with rage/joy, and I really hope there's a sequel!

I expect all of my YA romance lovers to buy this book on July 11th. Go ahead and pre-order, add to cart, and mark it on your ever-growing TBR… because THIS is the summer romance adventure you need in your life.

Wren Wheeler is on a senior trip in London and nothing is going as it should. First a stomach bug, then her friend abandoning her for the company of others, and finally a chance encounter with The Prince of Wales! After helping the Prince escape paparazzi, he offers her a favor… one she won’t have time to use because she has a flight home to catch. 

Before she can make it home though, world-shattered news drops. A comet is heading straight toward Earth, big enough to cause a mass extinction. Can she cash in her favor? Can the prince pull some strings to get her home?

Oh my gosh! Someone please contact a Netflix producer, because this would make a really fun, stressful and heartwarming movie. 

Our characters try making the most out of this dreadful situation. A cross country road trip with a severe time crunch. Forced to face their mortality, while trying to live their last moments to the absolute fullest. I adored Wren and Theo! Couldn’t read their story fast enough.

This book has lots of tropes I love. Including: one bed, forced proximity, road trips, goody-two-shoes doing crime, and “lost” royalty. 

Things I hate in this book: ambiguous ending! 😭 Someone send help, my emotions are all over the place.

If you can’t tell, I really enjoyed this read. Can’t wait to force my friends to read it.

Maybe it's because I have always loved early 2000s teen rom-coms, or maybe it's because I identify with that end of the world feeling, but I LOVED this story!

Starting off, we have Wren, a planner who aspires to not be the family disappoint, in London on a school trip. She arrives at World's End to check off an itinerary goal, but finds herself suddenly on an adventure with a prince hiding from the paparazzi. Prince Theo derails her final attempt at following her perfect London plan and she ends up late for her flight. Which would have been fine, if it didn't turn out there were only 8 days left before a comet hit the earth. The apocalypse has started, flights are cancelled, and Wren is left with no plan and no way home. This story is her attempt to find her way back to the people she loves most, finding new friends and family along the way, and learning what truly is important to her in life. 

Honestly, if you are not a fan of fun, predictable rom-coms, this is probably not be for you. But if you are, you are in for an exciting ride across Europe with a prince and a girl who's plans never quite seem to come together. 

And that ending!! I need a sequel now!

 Chasing Liberty + Deep Impact = The Prince & The Apocalypse

I absolutely love natural disaster themed stories, and I jumped at the chance to read The Prince & The Apocalypse. And let me tell you, it didn't disappoint.

I'm so glad I was given the opportunity to read the book prior to release, but now I'm impatiently waiting for the sequel!
