When I first heard about this book I was given the impression that it was written entirely in verse which I am ashamed to say put me off reading it. Turns out it is a beautiful story that I found myself really enjoyed that being said I felt it made a nice stand alone and I am genuinely curious if I will get anything out of the rest of this series. Either way starting book 2 now.

This book was AMAZING! I hadn't heard anything about this book, but read the synopsis and thought it sounded interesting. I downloaded it to my kindle and opened the "book". The first thing I saw was an Avett Brothers song quote. I'm a HUGE TAB fan, so I took this as a very good sign. Not only did each chapter open with a TAB song quote, but the band was a part of the story too. Aside from this, the story was so good. I couldn't [still can't] get enough of Will and Lake. This was not your typical love story - it was so much more. I laughed. I cried. Hoover is awesome and I can't wait to see what she publishes next after Point of Retreat (which also was phenomenal). Whatever it is, I'll be reading it!!

This is now my favorite book! I thought that I had one for quite some time, but now I KNOW. How did the author get me to go from complete elation to a quivering, slobbering mess (but in a good way),in just three pages?! Do not stop or pass go until you read this book. You'll thank me for it later:)

Ahhh the feels. As much as I complained at the beginning, I did enjoy this very much. I teared up at the end.

Can i just say how beautiful this book is? I can't not enjoy a book by Colleen Hoover; i didn't even know why I didn't put this up sooner. It was one of the most beautiful book out there. This book introduced me to slam poetry; I really enjoy them. I felt my heart missed a beat when i read the poem. I've never been fond of poetry, and god! how could Colleen wrote something that is so relatable, so raw, yet so beautiful? I love this book much more than i expected

This gave me so many goddamn feels that when it finished I sighed so loudly that my husband jumped from being startled. This is the 4th Colleen Hoover book I've read in two weeks and I just cannot get enough.
I need all of her books. They are crack. She is the drug dealer.

Leaky Eyes……..
This book had me blubbering quite a few times. Among the joy and sadness were quite a few pearls of wisdom regarding life & death. And I love a good HEA. Can’t wait to read the 2nd part. Highly recommended! Now let me go to Apple Music to binge listen to The Avett Brothers. Never heard of them until this book. Hope their music is as good as this book.

Colleen Hoover is one of my favorite authors, and this book is probably my least favorite.
This story is an insta love troupe, which I don’t think I enjoy reading. It’s also a YA/new adult read, which I’m finding doesn’t fit my reading tastes anymore. I wish I read this book when I was 16- then all the crying (from the main character) might’ve been received in a more sympathetic light, that goes for Layken’s immaturity as well. But, keeping my personal feelings about those things out of my review, I’ll say that this was a very quick read. The sad parts of the story are kind of glossed over, which I thought was nice because I was just looking for a fluffy love story. I can definitely tell that this is one of Colleen Hoover’s earlier works, but her potential is definitely there. I almost wish she’d rewrite it because I think she’s gotten so much better. Even though I didn’t enjoy this one as much as her others, I would still recommend it... to someone a little more age appropriate.

I only finished this book because it was an Interlibrary loan. Too many people and vehicles wasted time and money to get this piece of crap to me.
