Good... And something is missing

It was an interesting reading process. The story is good, the plot interesting, and the genre is one I really like.

And yet...

It was not a smooth read, in the sense of not capturing and captivating me. After the first book, the "hunger" to continue unravelling the plot faded. I found myself reading a chapter or two, and then having enough and going to read something else. When I compare it (unfair, really, yet to give a sense) to, say, "The name of the wind" - I could not put it down. Here, it was very easy to do so.

A finished this book a while back and just didn’t know what to write. While I was impressed with the style of writing that typically isn’t my thing, I was equally surprised how much I truly loved this trilogy. With all epic stories I find myself lagging through the traveling around the worlds. This however I felt very little of that, I enjoyed the vast world and how each had its own race yet each were connected by a different character we had met.
While the plot was interesting I did feel something was amiss as some sections where I was confused but all did clear up in the end.
