I’m rereading all my books, and this one was a guilty pleasure in high school. I have since stopped feeling guilty about my pleasures, though, and can wholeheartedly embrace how much I love this straight up romance novel. The thing that really pulled me in is how much I LOVE the main character (though she does have the same name as the rat from Ratatouille lol). I know a big thing in the book was her gradually becoming less bitchy, but I genuinely loved her snide comments and everything. She was bitchy in a fun way, and that’ll get me every time. It has some bits in there that dated it quite a lot, but honestly because of that, I actually felt more comfortable with some things (like Remy being pursued so intensely). I don’t think I’ll ever give a book with no representation (be it queer or poc) a full 5 star rating, but I really did love this one.
Moderate: Rape
