I read the first book and loved it. It was such a fun read, and I was really excited to continue the story. I’ve read other books by Obert Skye (pillage 10/10 recommend) and loved them. This books though…. So. Boring. Slow, and no plot line. I won’t be continuing this series. I was sad to see this book go so far downhill so fast. Disappointing.

This is a children's book so i feel like i have no business really critiquing it. But i kinda feel like the villain is jumping around a bit. We'll see how the 3rd book goes.

This one was better than the first, but I'm still not ready to become a Foo Fan. On to book number three!

I love the creative wording like "her head and heart were pounding like wet shoes in an electric cloths dryer". It is very imaginative and descriptive. Highly enjoyable. Makes me smile.

Honestly, there were parts of the book didn’t make much sense and I got lost. But overall, I think that Skye has an incredible imagination. He has this world and animals and creatures that I’m surprised he was able to keep up with it all. And the characters were great too. But I liked the world A LOT. It was quite a peculiar thing.

So, I wrote a review for this when I read it but accidentally deleted a whole bunch of reviews when I was reorganizing my shelves... So I guess I just have to read them all again so I can give accurate reviews :D

I don't know if it was just that my mood wasn't lining up with the mood of this book, or if the writing problems from the first book got worse or annoyed me more, but I couldn't finish this one. I slogged through 95 pages, and tossed the book aside. ugh.

Every bit of action is described in such excruciating detail. It's completely unnecessary, and really slows down the book! I started reading only the first sentence of each paragraph, and was able to follow everything perfectly.

Although I liked the characters in the first book, in this one I found myself apathetic about them. I didn't really care if they died. Literally, a character died, and I didn't care. Not a twinge.

Somehow, being introduced to new characters and a new setting just felt like too much work. I didn't care enough to make the effort to remember all the new names. meh.
I won't be reading the rest of the series.

I would like to give this book 6 stars....WOW!!! If I couldn't put the first one down, I always had my nose in this one over each meal, and back and forth to work! It is a superb adventure through Foo! I really like the idea of bad secrets being burried in the Swollen Forest...and after they get let out, prepared to be chased until they trick you into looking them in the eyes....run as fast as you can, even from the decoy secrets!!!! Who is the Want? Why is Leven growing so quickly? Ever had to flatter a bridge so that you could cross and so that it wouldn't decide to give up as you stood halfway across the gorge? Where's Geth? Is Winter being tortured and robbed of her nit gifts? Read on to find out what happens! On to the next adventure!!!
