Charming short stories from the 40s (this collection was published in the 60s). Most concern teen girls facing the typical "struggles" they faced back then - a much simpler time, when a girl's biggest problem was the fact that she was a little too outspoken, and might get nominated to negotiate with a grumpy businessman to allow the club to hold a dance. There is one story with a deeper vein, a girl's older sister knows a boy who is killed in the war. But most of the stories stay away from any mention of war or privation and instead focus on the girl, her friends, her boyfriend and school.
