I only managed to read the first play in the collection (Alcestis) but I found it difficult to enjoy because the translation was so awkward and modern.

Euripides is a fascinating playwright. He really does some fascinating explorations of morality and some ingenious deconstruction of mythological figures and heroes. He is clever, has wit and also describes some truly fantastical events in a very detailed, rich poetry. The standout of this compilation is Medea, which is my favorite play of the three. However, beware, Euripides does engage in some pretty offensive sexism (looking at you Hippolytus). But, for all that he also does some progressive things like focusing on the difficulties of the lives of women in classical Athens.
