Positive relationships are key to a happy life. What is apparent in this country doctor’s story is that they are also key to health and primary care. It is heart warming to think that in rural communities the local gp is still able to form long standing relationships as in bigger twins and cities we see a different health professional each time we are I’ll and the lack of relationships means a lack of trust and understanding and ultimately poorer health care. It felt like I was reading about a bygone age, which was wiser and kinder.

A lovely book, mostly listened to whilst walking out and about in the countryside.

I much preferred the parts about cases. I did find the parts about the importance of continuity of care, the fortunate man, and othe theoretical bits was where my attention could wander if they went on for too long (hence not a higher rating).

However, on the whole, really liked it, and fascinating to know there are still parts of the country where a GP practice is able to operate like this.
