I loved it, not my favorite of the series but I still loved it. I have never been a Xhex fan, I wish she was more feminine because I do like John Matthew and they never seemed to click for me, but I still enjoyed her background story and I like that she had some tender moments. I also liked the tie-in to Darius. I wish John Matthew had realized who he is though...I guess it gives me something to look forward too. I LOVED the tension and chemistry between Blay and Qhuinn and can't wait for it to be continued.

This story was as good as the the previous ones. At this point you can really see how alot of the characters have evolved. Can't wait for the next one!

I do LOVE John! And before this book I was unsure of Xhex but I do love her now!

Brilliant book, hot as always!

I have to shamefully admit I skip some of the lesser bits because quite frankly I don't care about them -,- They aren't badly written, just I don't see why I need such an insight to random people who end up DEAD and we don't even see interaction between them and the Brothers!

Qhuinn/Blay moments KILLED me. Cannot wait til the next book to see what happens with them two and how they end up getting together. Nearly broke my heart with that last scene between the two!

I loved reading John Matthew's story, even more than I thought I would. There was a lot going on this book, but it all blended together really well. I am still wondering what happened to Rehv! With Xhex being a main character and the fact that the last book covered Rehv, I thought for sure that there would be more of him in this one. Aside from missing Rehv, I have no major complaints. Ward did a great job yet again and I can't wait for the next book! I am on the edge of my seat to see what happens with "Qhuay" ;)

Another awesome installment of this fabulous series!
Having a weakness for John Matthew, I was so happy to see him find his soul mate! Initially, based on perception from earlier books, I was not sympathetic to Xhex but so much of her past is explained in this book that it is easy to see why she and John Matthew make such as good couple.
This book also provides teasers into the relationship between Qhuinn and Blaylock, such that I can't wait to read Lover At Last!

I always include major spoilers (hidden), to help with my memory  issues. Read them at your peril!

"John Matthew has come a long way since he was found living among humans, his vampire nature unknown to himself and to those around him. After he was taken in by the Brotherhood, no one could guess what his true history was- or his true identity. Indeed, the fallen Brother Darius has returned, but with a different face and a very different destiny. As a vicious personal vendetta takes John into the heart of the war, he will need to call up on both who he is now and who he once was in order to face off against evil incarnate.

Xhex, a symphath assassin, has long steeled herself against the attraction between her and John Matthew. Having already lost one lover to madness, she will not allow the male of worth to fall prey to the darkness of her twisted life. When fate intervenes, however, the two discover that love, like destiny, is inevitable between soul mates" (From Amazon)

Another fabulous novel in the series. I enjoyed John Matthew's story along with back story. One of my favourite novels in the series.

Ohhhh, John Matthew. I was SO looking forward to this book during my BDB journey. This was hands down the most romantic of the 8 books in this series that I’ve read so far (although the others are romance-heavy as well). I just loved the love shared between John Matthew and Xhex. I enjoyed how much of a badass Xhex was, but I also enjoyed watching her soft side come out with John. I felt myself blushing and swooning every time they were together.

I also absolutely love the budding relationship between Qhuinn and Blay. I’m really excited for their book. These books are just so so good.
