Honestly, this was exhausting, so I can only imagine what it would be like to live in this way.
Holly is a vibrant energetic young woman. When we first meet her she’s throwing herself into a crazy party and gets herself into a potentially dangerous situation. Then we watch her head home to her husband and wonder if there’s more to this story.
Watching Holly go about her business was exhausting. She is a train-wreck waiting to happen, alienating everyone around her and making mistakes. Around the point I found myself getting irritated by how much chaos she was causing, we discover she is bi-polar. This explains some aspects of her behaviour, but it made me worried for her.
It’s important that not all the details are revealed, but this was a tautly-plotted read that really delivers in terms of thrills and spills. Some of the events were bordering on tawdry - it seemed just too much at times.
During my reading of this I couldn’t help but think that everyone needs a Meg!

I have read books by this author before but I didn't enjoy this one. I spent the book hating the main character. That's never a good sign. I kept reading in the hope i would still like it.

A really interesting book that is unexpectedly relatable and thought-provoking. Definitely one to recommend to someone after a crime or thriller with a bit of a difference.

READ IN DUTCH

My biggest problem with this book is: NOTHING HAPPENS! I don't need an action packed book, but I like to see something happen, or at least interesting descriptions. The first three quarters or so of this book seem to be just introduction to the story.

It took so long that by the time something sort of happened, I just could care any more. After 200 pages of some just living irresponsible and a bit dangerous, I didn't care what happened at all. This book was a disappointment for me.
