Cute story
This was a cute story but not my favorite from Helena Hunting. The writing was great as usual but I just couldn’t get into the storyline and about 80% in was ready for it to end.
Spoilers-Loved hearing about all the other characters from previous books but maybe the whole all the women are pregnant thing is boring. Rook was great but I found Lainey boring and flat.

The book was fine, nothing sensational. Very autism coded.

This was okay. A little cloying at times. Lainey's babbling verged on insanity more than cuteness in the beginning for me and the whole set up of not being able to find each other was definitely more to serve plot than any sorty of realism. The lack of enthusiasm for that could just be me- the couple finding happiness because they have a baby together is not really my thing. It's a decent kindle unlimited book, but I'd have been annoyed if I spent money on it. That being said, the characters were likeable enough and I did decide to read the next book in the series.

This book was good. Not necessarily a standout but also not horrible. The title entails exactly what happens in the story with a predictable plot line.

I absolutely loved this book. I will say that I wish it was a little spicer (would have pushed it to 5 stars). The sex scenes were not as detailed as the ones in Pucked which is surprising since this is a spin-off of Pucked. I was honestly shocked at the fact that Rookie was so caring. Compared to the other Pucked guys, he’s probably the most caring boyfriend (next to Darren.) On a different note the plot twist had me shook and I wasn’t expecting it at all.
I connected a lot with Lainey, I think mainly because she is very introverted and a little paranoid and very anxious which is me haha. But I will definitely reread this book and it will be added to my favorites of 2021.
*Potential Spoiler below*
Sadly we say goodbye to Lance and Poppy (my faves) and the rest of the gang in this book minus Alex and Violet but I’m excited to meet the new characters.

I wish I could tell you when I read this, but it happened sometime during the pandemic summer romance binge. I had no idea what I was getting into, but it turns out, that reading the back of the book blurb would not have helped me. This is not the vacation romance it sets up, but a second-chance

secret babyI loved being taken unawares by a romance, the chemistry was great, all the details of their lives were great, and it seems I might get better on with Hunting's backlist.
