There's always a character in M.C. Beaton books who sleeps with someone once and thinks they are now engaged.

Agatha Raisin joins the Dembley hiking club to pursue handsome Cotswold neighbor James Lacey. Angry member Jessica targets wealthy landowner Charles Fraith, who retaliates with tea invitation, but her body is found dead on his grounds. Agatha and James investigate the crime, the group ready to kill.

This isn't one of my favorite books in the series. But I love Agatha and still enjoyed revisiting Carsley.

There is a fun part when James and Agatha pretend to be married. Too funny.

Always a good read.
