Loved this story much more then I expected too. The narrator did a fabulous job. A Great addition to the HEA series

I didn't enjoy this one quite as much. The narrator was good, but he wasn't really reading the black man's voice right, to my mind.

Phineas is a vampire. He works for MacKay Security and Investigation. What Phineas is really known as is Dr. Phang. He is a super star on the Vampire Network (think if it as the CW Network)

The Malcontents, an evil group of vampires are making a move in Wyoming. Phineas is being sent to stop them. He will be accompanied by Bryn. If Phineas was alive, he would probably slit his own throat. Bryn is the daughter of a very powerful werewolf pack and she hates all things vampires. This is going to be one wild ride.

It has been a few books since I have read anything in the Love at Stakes series. What first drew me to this book was the cover. Partly the guy’s abs but also his outfit. I am a sucker for a cowboy.

I was not feeling this book as much as I had hoped to. The book moved slowly in the beginning and I was not feeling the characters. This might have been different regarding the characters or Phineas in particular, if I had been following this series and than I would have built up a connection to him. Although, I do have to admit that I did enjoy the witty banter between Phineas and Bryn. While, the banter was great, it was not enough to get me to stick with this book. I gave up on it about a third of the way in. This book had no bite!

I don't really know what I think of this one. ON the one hand, I really liked the idea behind the book but it was kind of rushed. It could have been done better but I did like it.

I’ve been a fan of the Kerrilyn Sparks Love at Stake series for a while and now twelve books in this is the gift that keeps on giving. I’ve noticed that the covers can sometimes make you think that the book is going to be dark and scary but I’ve always found them to be light hearted and funny. Don’t get me wrong, the mystery/suspense in each book is well written and is an edge-of-your-seat page turner almost every time, but the humor that Ms. Sparks interjects is something that keeps me coming back time and again. That and her sexy vampires. Wanted: Undead or Alive proved again why I love the stories from Ms. Sparks. Phineas has been a hilarious character throughout the books and finally getting a chance to see more of his life and his story is great. He is a more recent vampire so he has a lot of modern ideas and vocabulary and he even still has living family. Tired of his Dr. Phang persona, Phineas is ready to settle down and find The One just like his brothers in arms. The only problem is that the woman he can’t stop thinking about is werewolf princess Brynley. Brynley was a great character but sadly I didn’t exactly remember her from the earlier stories (I read a lot so forgetting secondary characters is sadly normal for me). She made a lasting impression in this story because she was extremely well written and went through a lot of growth in this story. Plus the chemistry between her and Phineas just leapt of the pages. Another great read in the Love at Stake series and I really hope there’s more to come!

There is a white guy on the cover of this book. Dr. Phang isn't white.
