The best Military Romance book I have ever read. It has everything I could ever ask for. Romance, Comedy, Action, Drama (kind of). The whole book kept me on my toes. The part where Jacob and the Alpha team had to go and rescue the Bravo team, had been amazingly written. I could imagine everything that went through. And OMG i really dont have any words. It was exceptionally well written. I loved it. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Jacob had its grip on me in the first page. It starts out with Tori in her prison cell praying for a rescue or the end of her life so that she no longer has to live through the torture. Enters Jacob King and his crew who take down the warlords and finds Tori in her beaten state. During the flight home, Jacob and Tori make a date that a year from today they will meet at a restaurant to have their favorite steak dinner. When that day comes, there is a lot of sexy heat in the restaurant and I found myself really liking the book and where it was going.

Jacob and his crew are grounded so they follow Tori back to her father’s farm and help out, finding that it is something that they enjoy and they decide that setting up a rehabilitation for injured men there could help out all the men in the Guardian world. Jacob and his crew’s interaction and laid back vibe was nice to read when they were at the farm getting back to their roots but when they left is when things changed for me.

I felt that it moved at a fast pace from there…the relationship between Jacob and Tori and the budding relationships between some of the crew and other characters. I also felt that the Guardian accepting Tori into their mix and hiring her in, when they deal with such classified information and truly not knowing much about her, seemed a little weird. I believe that I had a problem with the quick plot line and trust that the second half of the book didn’t hold my attention like the first half.

But I will say that there is something about Tori’s sister and Doc’s relationship that has me very intrigued and I want to read their book to see what happens.

“Guardian Security, to be precise—a subsidiary of Guardian International. The empire owned by David Xavier performed duties outside regular channels. They were the absolute best at what they did, and no single nation or governmental agency sanctioned Guardian Security—but all used them covertly. Technically classified as private security, they worked to free Americans from desperate situations, to protect humanitarian efforts around the world, and to provide safe passage and secure environments for VIPs and dignitaries of all nations. On occasion, they were authorized to take out some nasty bastards that nobody else could touch—legally.”

I really enjoyed Jacob and Tori’s story, although I wish it was longer! There were a few storylines left unresolved; The main one for me was with the CIA Branch Chief who set Tori up. Whilst I presume he will get his comeuppance later in the series, I would have preferred it to be in Tori’s book.

OMG What a wonderful book!

I loved this book from the beginning to the very end and can't wait to read Joseph's story next. But my most favorite part of the entire book is when they all work together to rescue their brothers and friends, Doc & Chief.

Tori has been held prisoner for over 100+ days being systematically torturers because she works for the CIA and ISIS wants any information that she may have. But she never gives up, until one day Jacob King and his team's rescue her and bring her home. They make a pact to meet in a bar on the one year of her rescue.

When you add in Gabriel and Jacob's sisters, a huge ranch in South Dakota owned by Tori's father, Frank. Plus a high risk rescue of Jacob's brother in ISIS territory and you'll have one heck of a book. Loved it

This was a hard one to rate, between a 1 and a 2.

The positive ~

1 - the team, the first mission, the plans for the ranch

The negative ~

1 - the insta love
2 - the dialogue
3 - the rest of the story

The story was WAY too rushed, and a jumbled mess. I wanted to rate a 1, but I didn't hate it and there were some good ideas, they just were not done well, at all. :/
