I have a new favourite Eddie Flynn book! The Accomplice is the 7th book featuring lawyer Eddie Flynn and his team. In my experience, as I read them out of order to begin with, they can easily be read as stand alone novels. If you love fast paced stories that will keep you reading way into the night. You have to meet Eddie.

The tag line on the cover had me intrigued and needing to know more… “Being married to a serial killer is murder” How could you pass up on that. As soon as this book landed on my doorstep I started it. I was quickly caught up in the dangerous world of Eddie and his team as they defend the wife of The Sandman.  She has been charged with being his partner in crime but claims that she is innocent. And Eddie only represents those that he believes are innocent. Carrie Miller is the wife of Daniel Miller, a rich, business man in New York. The police believe that she helped him with a handful of his 17 murders. He is on the run so Carrie is their next best option. But the Sandman wants his wife freed, and will do whatever I takes to make that happen.

So as well as a clever legal thriller, we get the added bonus of a serial killer. I love a good serial killer book. This killer is vicious, and takes his victims eyes as trophy’s, leaving behind sand in their place. I will never hear Mr Sandman, bring me a dream the same way again.

As always with Steve Cavanagh books, we have a roller coaster ride on the way to a thrilling conclusion. I wanted to both devour and savour this book, it was so very well done.

Easily all the stars for this one. Thank you Hachette Australia for my advanced copy of this book to read. Published in Australia on July 26th

The Eddie Flynn series is hands down one of my absolute favorites, and especially the last three books have blown me away. To say that The Accomplice was one of my most anticipated 2022 releases is an understatement, and I've been dying to read it ever since it was published and I got a copy. I couldn't have picked this sequel up at a better time, and it ended up being just the exhilarating crime/legal thriller story I was craving. I'm a big fan of Eddie Flynn and the rest of the cast, and it was fantastic to be able to catch up with them again. This is another sequel that will hit close to home though, so be prepared! Also, this is definitely a series to read in order if you want to avoid spoilers and fully understand the dynamics between the characters. The Accomplice has a slightly less complicated plot this time around, but that doesn't mean that there is no action or suspense. A serial killer hunt, a missing wife suspected of being an accomplice, a seemingly impossible case to win in court, a race against the clock, a kidnapping, multiple murders... And lots of twists and secrets to keep you busy along the way. The story uses a lightning fast pace and a multiple POV structure, and those POV switches only add to the suspense. I also always love a good serial killer POV! I did kind of suspect the ending, but that didn't take away from my reading experience as a whole. I can guarantee that The Accomplice will appear on my list of 2022 favorites!

It was a fun read but it was obvious from the beginning that
SpoilerDaniel Miller was not the Sandman as chapters from his POV were titled 'Sandman'
. I also didn't think we got enough of Eddie Flynn. Otherwise it was entertaining and it kept me going till the end.

A fun and fast book, although cliche in places it is still enjoyable and entertaining

So I was ready to give this book at solid 4 stars by the time I was 3/4th of the way through because I was like it is still not as good as fifty fifty but it was good. My issue was that I usually like figuring out you know who is the killer and pointing my suspicions at people.

And here we already knew who was the killer from the beginning. But I guess that was my first mistake, believing that the killer was the same person as the one we are in the manhunt for. I meant it didn't come to me to you know to question what if he was framed for the murder. I legit believed Daniel was the sandman from the get go. And that his wife was innocent. Like lol, seriously Eddie, you led me astray again. Like seriously, I wholeheartedly believed you when you said oh i don't represent guilty people and I can tell from the get go when someone is innocent or guilty, I have gut a feeling. Dude your gut led me not to question anything.

I believed Otto was shady seriously, but that twist that he was the sandman, literally blew me out of my seats. And the fact that I still thought Carrie was innocent when that reveal came. I mean girl, good job, you played us all, including your stupid gut Eddie. Yeah, Otto played us but Carrie, you take the diamond on it. Not only, you were proved innocent in the trial, you ran way with all the money and leaving Eddie and his team none the wiser. Also, Lake, I get where you were coming from not wanting to bring more hurt to the legal team, ,BUT YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD THEM THAT CARRIE WASN'T INNOCENT REGARDLESS OF YOU PLANNING TO KILL HER LATER. We don't do vigilante justice here, I thought you found your found family man, you don't do lies here.

Anyways, I am glad Kate survived. And Bloch is badas as always. Can't forget Harry being his supporting self as ever. But Eddie, seriously, I still have beef with you and your gut, I am never believing it again. Even the smartest con artist can be outmaneuvered.

There was a lot of investigations here and not enough court drama to satisfy me but ngl it was good, the one where Eddie tricked the DA's witness to stain his shirt and beard with ink and red ink in that, was definitely clever.
Also him playing, the judge, DA, and the juror, in the restaurant to prove that their phones were all bugged was nice too.
You have to give credit to the sandman for being what's the word cunning? I mean when has spotted my Bloch and Lake, he not only ran from that loft but went back the witness's apartment، killer her and the FBI guy and then escaped while standing right in front of them. I mean Block noticed but she got preoccupied with the fbi guy having a heart attack. I am glad that baby survived though, gotta trust a mother's instinct and intuition.

Glad that Lake killed the sandman because yay morally gray character but he was hiding SECRETS.

Oh lastly, how did i forget one more badas from Bloch? Beating the neighbor (breaking his finger) and bringing back the stolen TV back to Kate.

Overall, this was a great thriller, definitely or you know somewhat distracted me from the terrible thoughts.
