This is one of my favorite John Maxwell books for so many reasons. Dr. Maxwell not only shares his 21 laws, but he brings in stories and people from across history and across industries to demonstrate just why these 21 laws apply to leadership everywhere. When I read this book, I felt like I was not only learning some great, applicable leadership principles, but I was also learning about a lot of remarkable men and women who have impacted the world in unique and wonderful ways.
At the end of each chapter, Dr. Maxwell includes a list of questions and practical application questions so you can progress your leadership development and ability. At the very end of the book, in the appendix, he provides practical questions to help you determine which laws are your strongest assets and which laws will require you to gather those strengths in your team members.
One of the things that I really appreciated about this book was that it plainly states that no one is going to be great at all 21 of the laws - that is why you need a team around you. This book is full of great advice and it puts leadership qualities within reach for those who want to go after them.

Maybe this is a problem with poor memory of a book you read years before. I was bothered by it and about halfway through I picked up on one small reason: never once does he use feminine pronouns when talking about leaders.
The rules are good, the presentation isn’t so inspiring.

Solid advice. I wouldn’t say there was anything new here since it’s an older book (which I may have read before). But good reminders.
