Heaven save me from Kate Chopin novels. This one was at least better than The Awakening.

A reread. I first read Kate Chopin years ago and she blew me away, particularly the short story desirees baby. She’s a beautiful writer and quite modern I think. There’s a striking boldness about her subjects. This one should have had a more ambiguous ending though, the happy ending seems inappropriate.
