I never really post reviews, but here are some thoughts I jotted down whilst listening to the audiobook :P
I don’t think there are explicit spoilers in my review, but I do brush over a few things so I thought I’d mark it as spoilers anyways

- oh gods help me please. I notice it’s so much telling and not showing “i am the girl that studies instead of partied”, especially considering better ways of representing “quirky” studious people like in Radio Silence.
- The way Tessa calls her mom “mother” hurts XD
- I realised the movie is a bit more realistic in terms of how people act (for some reason hardin appears every chapter, then they kiss, then they fight x67 times), but the book is more realistic in the whole badboy thing, because he actually is an arse.
- The smut scenes are good though. The descriptions of Tessa’s first time seem really realistic. I must say it was weird reading smut on audio... on the bus... yeah okay let’s not do that again because I was so scared my headphones would stop working and the audio would be audible (pun intended) throughout the whole bus.
- It is so incredibly addicting, I read the first half in one day already.
- Okay but hardin really is an arse. he literally blames tessa for provoking him and making him act like shit... and then tessa says she loves him ._. He literally asks for another chance every6 chapters.
- Sooo yeah the plot could really use something else than smut-happy-fight-sad-smut-etc. Slut-shaming mollie happens too much, even though she is a bitch.
- I am not going to lie and say I am exited to read the rest of the series. Its really nice to read it as I don’t need brain cells for this. And i’m curious to see how the story progresses and whether the characters will get more dimension and development
- All in all, it’s a really shitty book in terms of writing style, no variation in the plot and unrealistic character mood swings, but it’s incredibly addictive and fairly enjoyable. I wouldgive it three stars for enjoyment but as I literally study literature and value good structures and narratives, I cannot allow myself hahah

This book was an act of terrorism.

If you had any sort of respect for yourself, unlike the main Character, you would burn this book.

This is not a book fit for donations or reselling.

If i was told that my life's work were to be buying every copy of this book, and figuring out a rocket that could withstand the power of the sun, and throwing these into the sun I would take on the mission.

Hardin is one hundred percent abusive, but Tessa is such a supreme idiot that you don't particularly find yourself caring that much.

Every character In this book shouldve met the guillotine.

Knowing that there are more of these floating around makes me so uncomfortable.

I am a shell of what I was before reading this book.

I don’t think I’ve found a book I like just about every character as much as I do just about everyone in After. Truly all terrible.

Its prose is as compelling as a wet sock and its characters make about as much sense as an LSD-induced hallucination. Should you ever find yourself craving an offensively bland yet somehow outstandingly incompetent romance story, this book is one for your shelf.
